Presented by the Sangamon County Community Health Roundtable and the UIS Center for State Policy and Leadership.
Vaccines for many common conditions are nearly universally accepted, but
not so for COVID. Despite the fact that the COVID vaccine is reported
to be safe, effective, and widely available at little or no cost, fewer
than 2/3 of eligible Sangamon County residents are fully vaccinated.
Spurred by a recent report released by Brookings, our panel of experts
will describe and explain some economic, political, social, and health
issues associated with this difference in vaccination status across the
population, and how they might be addressed.
